Graduation day

Born and bred in Monmouthshire and the Brecon Beacons, with childhood stints in County Durham and Brazil, and adult life so far spent in London, Sarah has come home to Wales with her family after a dozen years teaching in the city. Her own experience of attending school in another language fuelled a passion for supporting communication skills in learners, and for the past five years she has focused on assessment and learning support. Working with pupils from Nursery through Senior School, understanding each student’s strengths and needs is essential to provide timely, effective intervention and advice.

Sarah is a qualified Specialist Teacher Assessor accredited by the British Dyslexia Association and registered with the Professional Association of Teachers of Learners with Specific Learning Difficulties offering diagnostic assessment for specific learning difficulties and tutoring for all learners, as well as advice and training for parents and schools. A comfortable teaching and assessment space is available, but lessons, observations and diagnostic assessments can also take place at your home or school. Current DBS certificate, professional insurance and references can be seen.

She is a Licensed Tutor for I Can, the children’s communication charity, able to deliver training for the award winning Talk Boost programme in schools.

Since completing a Masters in Special Educational Needs, Sarah has designed and delivered lectures on the development of spelling and reading skills (and related support strategies) for the University of South Wales ALSA programme and BA Early Years course.

Tutoring services are local only, but assessment, training and lecturing are offered in London as well as South and Mid Wales, Avon, Somerset, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
